About Private Audit Firm Coordination  

In accordance with Proclamation No.68/1989, Article 7/14 the Office of the Federal Auditor General is empowered to issue, renew, suspend and cancel certificate of professional competence of private auditors and accountants. Accordingly, the Office of the Federal auditor General has established a National Certification Committee, the members of which were drawn from the various pertinent academic and government institutions as well as from private audit firms operating in the country, the task of which is to certify applicants who qualify to practice as private auditors and accountants. As of April 9, 1992 the office has commenced issuing certificates of professional competence to Authorized Auditors and Authorized Accountants. Authorized Auditors are entrusted with duties and responsibilities to audit and render opinion on those financial statements prepared by Authorized Accountants and/or organizations. On the other hand services provided by Authorized Accountants include bookkeeping, liquidation, tax advice, designing and installing accounting and internal control system, Office of the Federal Auditor General. The Office, therefore, would like to announce that as of 8 January 2005 the following Authorized Auditors and Authorized Accountants are those who possess Certificates of Professional Competence duly Authorized by the office
