We exist to deliver reliable and objective information through our audit reports to support the House of Peoples' Representatives in carrying out its responsibilities, to strengthen the performance and accountability of the Federal Government for the benefit of the Ethiopian people.

By providing reliable and objective information through enhancing the audit profession, our vision is to strengthen the performance, transparency, democratisation process, accountability as well as the good governance of the Federal Government for the benefit of the Ethiopian people.

Objectives

• Strengthen audit system required for providing information necessary for the proper management and administration of the plans and budget of the Federal Government
• Ascertain that all receivable money and property of the Federal Government are collected, preserved, and used properly in accordance with the Law and Regulations of the Federal Government and report same to the House
• Undertake financial and performance audits of the offices and organizations of the Federal Government
• Make efforts, in cooperation with concerned organs, to promote and strengthen the accounting and audit professions
• Give professional assistance and advice to Regional and Federal Civil servants and organizations of the Federal Government and follow up their implementation.
• Develop auditing standards by which accounts of the offices and organizations of the Federal Government shall be examined and follow up their implementation.
